"Claire," Leon began. "Are you all right?" He shifted her in his arms, almost afraid to move her in the smallest of ways. He didn't know how much damage she had taken.
"Oh," she moaned. "I'm okay. Thanks for saving me back there." The iron-clad grip she had on him was slipping. "Put me down please."
Leon obeyed, placing her carefully on the ground. She hugged him in thanks.
"I've got to go back and find Sherry. She ran off and I'm not leaving her here," she said firmly.
"All right. Do you need any help?" he offered.
Claire shook her head. "No. But...Leon, good luck."
She surprised him by kissing him, her warm lips meeting his. She pulled away suddenly and ran off into the darkness.
"Good luck Claire," he mumbled, touching his lips.
This is a belated present I had made for Hamm-Sammich's birthday.
